Another adverse effect is the loss of biodiversity. First, humans are at risk of suffering from dangerous health conditions like, for example, asthma and pneumonia due to air pollution. The deterioration of the environment has led to several adverse impacts. Other natural calamities such as earthquakes, storms, tidal waves, and wildfires also play a role in environmental degradation. They pollute the environment and deteriorate the surroundings. Landfills are disposal points for solid waste, especially in urban areas. Land disturbance or damage is another cause since sprouting and spreading of weedy plant species eliminates the typical greenery. Reduced forest cover results in an elevated level of carbon in the atmosphere and causes global warming. That means more land for settlement and farming which results in deforestation, which is a factor leading to environmental degradation. An increase in population means a parallel rise in basic needs. Improved healthcare systems have increased the lifespan of human beings hence resulting in overcrowding. Overpopulation is most definitely a cause of environmental degradation.

Noise pollution causes damage to the ears and impairs hearing. Water pollution contaminates drinking water, air pollution pollutes the air we breathe and poses a health risk, while land pollution degrades the earth's surface. There are four leading causes water, air, land, and noise. Pollution is unquestionably one of the primary reasons. There are multiple ways in which environmental degradation takes place. The general efforts applied to counteract this menace is environmental management and protection. An increase in population over the years has led to rapid economic growth through utilization of resource-depleting activities and pollution technology. Environmental degradation has captured the attention of the globe and necessary actions and policies have been established to control the state of affairs. It is an apparent change in the environment deemed undesirable or pernicious. Whichever way we look at it, environmental law affects all of us - individual health, business activity, geographical sustainability, and the importance of preserving those for the future generations and economy.Environmental degradation is the deterioration (causing degenerative harm) of the environment through exhaustion of natural assets such as water, soil, and air including the ecosystem, habitat intrusion, wildlife extermination, and environmental pollution. Both sides regularly hold conferences to discuss aspects of environmental law and how they should go about getting them changed in their favor. The other side of the debate is that current industry regulations and legislation are insufficient. For example, the ongoing debate over the impact of certain pesticides in agriculture, greenhouse gas emissions are often a battle between the science and industry's attempts to muddy the science and government lobbying to roll back legislation (2). Debates often center on cost, the necessity of such regulations, and the age-old friction between government regulation and encouraging the market to self-regulate and do the right thing for the good of everyone.

For various reasons, environmental law has always been a flashpoint of controversy. These are voluntary regulations rather than law conducted for the good of the environment and the local population. Similarly, impact assessment is not always legally required, but the permission to develop, construct, modify or engineer can often be refused if one is not carried out. It can also apply a method of land management on a kind of understanding of acting responsibly and ethically. These are not вЂњlawsвЂќ per se but act as such within a regulatory framework. It can also describe a desire by businesses and other organizations, and their regulators to work towards improving ethical principles by setting regulation and industry standards for operating licenses. However, the term вЂњenvironmental lawвЂќ does not just cover government legislation. As we will explain in the next section, it covers many areas, all with the same purpose already described here. Environmental law, or sometimes known as environmental and natural resources law, is a term used to explain regulations, statutes, local, national and international legislation, and treaties designed to protect the environment from damage and to explain the legal consequences of such damage towards governments or private entities or individuals (1). Humanity has been aware of its environment far longer than there have been laws to protect environments.
